My research work is mainly devoted to the study of strongly interacting quantum field theories by means of the so-called holographic correspondence, a proposed duality map between quantum field theories and higher dimensional theories of gravity. My aim is twofold. From one side, to better understand the roots of the correspondence and to look for novel validity checks to it. From the other, to contribute orienting this tool towards phenomenologically relevant models for particle physics and condensed matter, with a focus on both equilibrium physics and dynamical issues.
